A Great Thanksgiving!

Today was a great day. Mason started out a bit crabby this morning, but after a great 2 hour nap this afternoon, woke up in a terrific mood.

As far as the turkey bake-off, I think we can officially call it a tie. I was told that mine was more moist (probably because I brined it), but Chris's had a unique applewood smoke flavor (he did it on the weber with apple cider and wood chips). It was fun competing with my hubby. We both talked a lot of "game" today but we are both very proud of eachother.

We also had sweet potatoes with apricots (YUM), Apple Stuffing (YUM), Mashed Potatoes and Scalloped Potatoes (YUM), 2 kinds of cranberries, green bean casserole, mandarin orange jello, rolls, corn, shrimp appetizer, spinach dip appetizer, and 4 different types of pies (ALL YUM). Oh, and did I mention a great sweet red wine? Afterwards everyone went into a coma and fell asleep in the living room...I will have to see if I can get those pics from Mom to post,

Tonight I plan to be in bed early, because I plan to get up at 2:30 to get ready for Black Friday shopping. My sisters and I have done it many years in a row now, and as crazy as it is, we love it. It helps me get into the Christmas spirit.

This weekend we head west to the Mrdutt Farm to shop, bake, watch the boys shoot deer, and get our Christmas tree on Sunday (YAY)! A busy fantastic weekend!

I hope you all had a great holiday.
