Burnin down the house
Chris and I can't thank everyone enough for all the help with the house(s) this past weekend.
Barb cleaned our house top to bottom on Friday while I was still at a conference in the Dells so I came home to the cleanest house I've seen in quite a while. I hope that we can keep it this way. :) Our Open House yesterday had only one visitor, but she seemed extremely interested. We hope to hear back! We have also noticed a few people driving by the house slowly, checking things out. It almost makes me want to scream out the front door "Hey! Come check it out! It's gorgeous inside!"
As much as I hope we can sell this house to work on saving and building a new one (especially for Mason), I don't really want to leave. Chris and I (and our family/friends) have put SO much work into our house over the past 3 years that it has truly been turned into one of our own. Each room has had some sort of makeover whether it be only changing the curtains or completely rebuilding it. It is so cozy that I can't imagine another house ever being this welcoming.

Many people showed up to help burn the house on Saturday. We had two fires going, one in the basement that will be filled in eventually and one in the field just south of the house. Thanks to everyone that helped us burn down the house. It was lots of fun, tons of great food and even greater company. We did not expect to get as much done as we did, so we are very excited to keep the momentum moving and look next at rezoning and excavation for a pond.

Life is Sweet.
What a fantabulous weekend this has been. I love weekends that don't consist of many plans and we fly by the seat of our pants (as my mother would say). Yesterday we met up with lots of friends at UWSP homecoming. It was FREEZING outside but we got to chit-chat with lots of old buds. I drank way too much wappatui but it was sooo good. Chris and I headed out early and stopped to eat some Jimmy John subs, which were terrific. We drove to Stoney Creek to catch a few minutes of a wedding before heading home and calling it an early night. Can you believe it...we have an overnight babysitter, and we are home by 9:30 pm?!
The 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep was pretty sweet though.
Today Chris and Dad spent a few hours destructing the DB house and getting ready for it to be torn down. We are having an escavator tear down the house this week so that it is ready for a demo party on Saturday. I enjoyed walking around the property with Mason, determining where I was going to place my garden, birdhouses and our future pole shed. The mature trees on the property pretty much set up the place for a house and we won't have to do much landscaping...although I'm sure we will put in a few more flowers and things once we're there. It's so exciting now that things are happening.
Tomorrow is Columbus Day, which means that I am off work because my company recognizes the holiday. I forced Chris to take it off with me so that we can get some more things done. We are going to the Marathon County Zoning and Planning office to get some paperwork for a rezoning, which needs to be completed before we dig a pond. Mason has physical therapy at 12:30 and the rest of the afternoon will be spent at the DB house and helping Mom and Dad paint a room in their house. FUN!
I'm looking forward to a busy week. I will be gone in the Dells for a conference Wed-Fri, and we are holding an open house on Saturday. I still haven't gotten anything posted in the paper about it because I can't decide how long I want it to go...what do you think...does 10-1 seem sufficient?
Everything is good in Mason land. Other than waiting to hear from the therapy office about his new stroller, his medical news is pretty much at a stand-still. We are just trudging through the day to day, which has been pretty enjoyable with our happy little guy. Now all I'm hoping for is a nice 50 degree day so we can take Mason up to Rib Mountain for a fall walk.

October 7, 2006 - The day we became one.
Today Chris and I celebrate 3 years of marriage. 3 years ago today we got up in front of family and friends and recited our vows and commitment to eachother. These days, our lives have been consumed by house remodeling, taking care of Mason and looking forward to future plans. But for tonight, we are going to take a few hours to reflect on these past 3 years while enjoying a scrumptious meal at W.I.S.H.I love you honey, and I look forward to many more years with you.

House Projects Continue - What else is new?
We had two interested parties this past week, one wanted to schedule a showing and the other wanted additional pictures. Still playing phone tag with the one for the showing and haven't heard back from the one I sent pictures to. Oh no, I hope this isn't how it's going to go!
Today Chris is digging out the south side of the house so we can put in more rock. I am painting the basement. I already put on two gallons and we're only half done, plus...we can tell it is going to need a 2nd coat. Whew.
Speaking of the Mace-meister, we got some good news this week. We got approval from our insurance on the Kid-Kart that we wanted to order for Mason. They only denied 2 things on the order (the kick-out legs and the leg supports). If we want to add on those 2 additional functions, it will cost us $900.00. We are seriously considering it. The benefit of the kick-out legs is that when Mason gets excited and stretches out, the entire seat part of the kart stretches out with him. It's a good way for him to learn to extend his legs and have his hips follow. Yes, we can do without it, but when the therapists met with Mason, they thought it could really benefit him. We aren't sure when we will actually get the kart, as this was just approval from our insurance and we're sure it will take another 2-3 months to actually order it and have it delivered.
I need to make a run for more supplies and then the work will continue. Can't wait for this weekend to be over so we can relax on Monday and watch the Packers kick Favre's butt! My hubby and I decided to buy ourselves a TV for our Anniversary/Christmas so we get to watch the game in HD! :)
