Just Another Rant. With Updates.

It's July 10th?!   We know it by the weather we've been having lately, that's for sure.  I am usually a fan of this hot summer weather, but not so much at 6 months pregnant. Mostly because I can't find flattering summer clothes that don't make me feel like a tent or feel like I'm cooking this poor kid.  I was convinced an early fall baby would be an ideal time for a maternity leave but I forgot about the 6/7/8 months of pregnancy occurring during the summer. I'll reconsider for next time. ;)

Other than my usual pregnancy bickering consuming our days, we're busy with Mason and the house.  First, the Mace-meister updates.

Mason started having bloody noses in late June.  We thought they were from dryness in his nose from the constant in AC/out of AC routine we had but after a pretty decent one at auntie Michelle's, I called his doc.  We ended up taking him in right away because it was the only appt. the doc had before the holiday.  I pointed out to her that I had noticed a small "growth" in his right nostril (where all the bleeding was coming from) about 3 days prior that I thought was causing the bleeding. She agreed. However, she had to refer us to ENT to have anything done about it.  We were referred to a Dr. K. in Wausau so that we could get in before the 4th.  Chris took Mason to this appointment.  It took 3 grown adults to hold down Mason to get a look at the bump.  The Dr. called it a pyogenic granuloma.  They booked a date (July 9th) to have it removed. Mason would have to be sedated.

On July 3rd, Dr. K's nurse called me to reschedule Mason's procedure. Because of Mason's history, they wanted to do his procedure at St. Clare's hospital so that they were staffed in case of complications with anesthesia.  It was booked for July 12th.

On July 5th, I got a call again from the nurse that Mason's procedure had been cancelled.  The St. Clare's team denied Mason's case.  They did not feel equipped to handle any concerns that may come up with his heart history.  They were fearful that anesthesia would send Mason's heart into an irregular rhythm.

Um, what?!  Mason's chart has shown NO abnormalities in rhythm since his corrective surgeries at 8 months old.  I chalk it up to no confidence in their abilities. (Ok, that's not nice.  I have a ton of respect for doctors and what they do.  It's just frustrated mom talk.)

So today, I called Dr. K's nurse to see where we stand. They referred the case to our regular ENT, Dr. S. to book the procedure.  After not hearing Monday (yesterday), I called Dr. K for an update today.

Dr. K spoke with Dr. S. and Dr. S. suggested we try putting a first aid ointment on it to see if its goes away.

Seriously?

2-3 nosebleeds a day is not normal.  We just want it taken care of so we can move on.  And now we just put on ointment?   This Mom is NOT happy.  The call tomorrow to Dr. S. is not going to be very pleasant.  I'll do what I have to do to get this scheduled and taken care of so that Mason can go through his day without blood running down his face.

Mason just started summer school Monday.  He didn't even notice me say goodbye on his 1st day so he's adjusted well. :)  He goes to Ms. Deb's house after school (she is also an aide in the classroom) until Daddy picks him up.  I think this is great for him, to be with someone other than family a bit.  He hasn't quite eaten for her yet, probably because all these changes are a little overwhelming, but he'll come around.  He'll still spend Fridays with Auntie and his cousins for his family fix. :)  He's in summer school for 4 weeks and then we go on vacation for a full week.  This summer is just flying by...

So....the house!

It's moving.  The pace is certainly slower than we'd hoped but I don't think I've ever heard anyone say "I can't believe how quick they built my house!"  Plus, our builder has great attention to detail.  I am convinced we will have little to no "oopsies" once we move in.  We're doing what we can to keep things on pace, by having our decisions made, by planning out our steps in the process (we have awesome friends helping with electrical), and by checking in daily.  Regardless, this process can't go quick enough. I want a house for my family.

I have pictures!

The garage!

Front porch with dormers up above. No stairs to the front door! :)

The jetted out window belongs to the "den" and the window to the right of that is baby's room.

Inside, looking at the master bedroom (in the back).  The "hole" in floor is for Mason's roll-in shower.

Looking at baby's room and the den from in the inside (Interior walls are not up yet)

Looking at the great room from the front door.  Note the high ceilings! I LOVE that we did this!

Looking toward the kitchen window (right) and front door (left) with dormers up above.  Hopefully they bring in TONS of light in the evenings.
