A place for us to blog, share opinions, ask advice and flat out tell you how it is. All may gather here to be enlightened by the insight and adventures of two clueless parents and their abnormally cute kids. Our lives aren't really more exciting than anyone else, so some exaggeration can be expected...

Fever going up again
His fever was 99.4 at 6:45, and 100.8 at 7:00. They can't give him anything until it hits 101. He's sleeping, but not a deep sleep because he wakes up often.
I need to check his temp soon, I'm sure it won't take long to go up to 101.
We rent the cabin from Jim and Barb. We have met Mason a few times and chatted with you guys when we were up in June. I am so sorry for all that Mason and you are going through. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We hope he gets better soon and you get some answers! Randy and Mindy Brown
Jen~ Just wanted to send this too you, I'm sure your tired and the last thing you want to do is read anything, so make Chris read it =)
I'm just thinking about you guys and want to help anyway I can, we continue to pray that Mace gets well and you get some answers.
Until then, take a look at this article, it's on periodic fever syndrome (PFAPA), diagnosed more often in boys under age of 5,without any other positive lab tests or any other symptoms (sometimes mouth ulcers that go undiagnosed), anyway....I'll stop summarizing, just thought it was worth a look.
We had thought about it, at the height of our frustrations...but they really are doing everything they can here. Now that this ear infection popped up, it does show he's dealing with something viral. We are pretty sure we'll be here until Friday, since they still have a bunch of tests they want to run. Problem is, his temp goes way up every 6 hours, just in time for more meds, and we need him healthy for the MRI.
Kira - They did mention cyclical fever. They mentioned we start a "fever diary" at home where we take his temp every day at the same time to develop a base-line. Once we get home we will really have to implement that into our routine...
We figured that we are on a 3 week cycle...so New Year's Eve will suck...but Mason will be all good for his uncle Matt's wedding. *smiles* We just won't talk about it around Mason, because it seems like Mason gets sick when we talk about "plans". :)
In 10 minutes it went up to 102.5.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable.
Sorry guys.. hope things turn around soon. We are all praying for you. If you need me to do your Christmas shopping let me know.. :)
