Crazy April

Mason is going to have a crazy month of April!

Next Tuesday Mason has a feeding evaluation at Therapies Plus in Wausau. We are seeing a feeding specialist to see if we can come up with any other ideas on how we're going to get our little buddy to eat different textured foods. Insurance has agreed to pay for the evaluation but we will need to send in the eval results before they would approve any sort of therapy.

Next Thursday Mason has a cardiology appointment. Pretty standard - just touching base with Dr. Dyke to make sure everything with Mason's heart sounds normal.

April 27th we have another special needs clinic in Marshfield. We will meet with neurology, physical medicine, speech, OT and PT. We need to re-order some special equipment for Mason so we hope to get that started. We also have an EEG scheduled...to check on Mason's brain activity. With Dr. Koehn's reaction of the pictures showing the cortical dysplasia, she led us to believe that Mason's seizures would get worse at some point so I guess the EEG will tell us that...if there is more seizure activity than before. I have started to look forward to these clinic days because they are so informative. It's a little overwhelming but we're used to that.

I had a talk with our Birth to 3 coordinator today about the transition for Mason into school. School. Can you imagine? It's so hard for me to think that Mason will actually go to school someday. As soon as Mason turns 3 (8 short months away!), he will be going to school. We have alot of planning to do in the next 8 months to develop Mason's IEP and get him (and me and the school!) ready for that next step. It made me anxious today. Almost to the point of feeling sick to my stomach. I know he'll be in great hands though...and get exposure to all the therapy and interaction he needs to learn and grow!

It's a busy Mason month...among other things. Katie's bachelorette party is this weekend and Ben's bachelor party is next weekend. Every weekend through June is packed with activities but it gets me excited for the summer. YAY Summer!

Oh yes, and we can't forget the house we're trying to sell. We decided not to list with a realtor and instead lowered our selling price as FSBO. In this market, we can't afford the commission with a realtor so we're hoping our new price will stir up some interest. As soon as I get motivated (which I've been having major issues with lately) we will plan some open houses and more ads in the paper. Eh. I'll get to it.

I suppose. I should make supper. I. Lack. Motivation.
