BIG Week! (Finally - a Mason update!)

Today was Mason's 3 year old check-up with pediatrics. Mason's weight was 29 lbs, 12 oz. and his height was 36 inches. This puts him at the 50th percentile...which is great, considering VCFS kids are usually on the smaller side. But I figure the Mrdutt genes kind of even that out...making him average. :) Giant genes + VCFS genes = Normal stature.

Mason had a fever of 101 last night, but it triggered nothing, except a restless night for both Mason and Daddy. :( This morning at the appointment the fever was down, thanks to ibuprofen. A general checkup didn't reveal anything troubling...no spots on his throat, no ear infection, lungs sounded fine. We're keeping an eye on it, hoping everything improves by Saturday for the big b-day party! We talked about Mason's sleep pattern, which is completely irregular. Dr. Shepherd suggested 1 mg of melatonin, which we happen to have on hand thanks to Gramma Barb that suggested it for Chris awhile back. Tonight is the first test. ;)

Due to his little illness, we cancelled speech and OT for tomorrow, but the big IEP meeting is still scheduled. I'm super anxious about it, hoping that they have more answers to my ever-growing concerns about the bus, feeding, etc. I was stressed out at work thinking about it today, but I'm trying to stay realistic. I'm sure it will go better than I imagine. Mason also has a blood draw tomorrow morning to test his seizure drug levels. It's been awhile since we've done that.

(I'll post more about the IEP meeting when it's done...and hopefully its full of positives!)

Wednesday is a relatively calm day, with a long overdue haircut scheduled for Mason. Thursday, too, is pretty calm. Friday, however, is Mason's big birthday!!! I'm taking off at noon to run errands and pick up Mason in time for his 3:00 pictures, then we'll have a small b-day celebration Friday night. Mason is heading to Marshfield with Daddy, Aunt Michelle and Spencer during the day to pick up his long-awaited gait trainer. YAY!! We'll finally have a piece of equipment he can use to get around!

The big party will be Saturday with all the Jan/Feb birthday folks, and cake, and pizza, and bowling, and balloons, and all kinds of fun!

After the party, we head back West to the "land of the Mrdutt's" for Marek's baptism on Sunday.

See! Big week!
